Even a mild hearing loss can hinder daily communication. Learning more about issues related to hearing loss can lead to empowerment and an improved quality of life.
These classses are designed to help persons who are living with hearing loss-either their own or that of a loved one. Informative and fun, each series of 4 free classes will focus on the following topics:
CLASS 1: Hearing Loss (Defining hearing loss and understanding the test results).
CLASS 2: Hearing Aids (Realistic expectations, different types of hearing aids and caring for hearing aids).
CLASS 3: Coping Strategies (Factors affecting understanding and communication strategies for everyday listening situations).
CLASS 4: Additional Resources (A demonstration of hearing assistive technology such as phones, alarm clocks and listening systems designed for persons who have hearing loss. Also, where to find support and speech reading help).
